The holidays are here and it’s time to decorate the tree and get my home ready for the holidays! Each year for the past few years, I have decorated my tree with a red and white theme. It’s always very classic and looks great, but this year I want to do something different. I really want the tree decor this year to reflect my colorful and vibrant style, so I’ve decided to go with a theme that’s a little more non-traditional this year.
With the help of The Home Depot, I’m so excited to reveal my colorful non-traditional tree decor! It’s merry, it’s bright, and it definitely reflects my personality and I know my family is going to love and enjoy it! Before this year, I never thought about purchasing a white tree. I’m not sure why, because my tree from previous years was flocked, so it looked mostly white anyways.
I chose a pre-lit white tree because I really wanted the pop of color to come from the tree trimmings. I chose a jewel toned color palette with ornaments I found at The Home Depot that makes our home feel festive and fun! Luca was Santa’s little helper and he ended up working so hard he fell asleep on the job!
For accent decorations, I also picked up this pre-lit white wreath from The Home Depot as well. I made a matching wreath just by using some of the ornaments and picks from the tree. I applied them to the wreath with wire ornament hooks, that way they can be easily removed in case I want to change my color scheme next year.
Some additional decor items I found at The Home Depot were my white snowflake stockings, my tree skirt, and tree stand. I found a tree stand on casters so that I was able to just turn it to decorate the different sides of the tree. Having my tree on wheels allows me to move it to a different space to enjoy it in another room if I wanted to. I’ve never seen a tree stand on casters before, so I thought I would test it out this year and so far so good!
How are you decorating your tree this year? Let me know in the comments below. You can find additional holiday items for your home all available at The Home Depot. Some of my favorites are here, here, and here.
