I enjoy sharing fashion finds, my latest home decor favorites, and taking you on my newbie DIY journey! Ever since I was a little girl I have been a fashionista and had a love for fashion and now I get to share that here with all of you!
Smiles and Pearls began in 2017 through Instagram, when I was a newlywed and looking for community. I would share my latest Target haul, or my daily #ootd, and all of a sudden I was part of one of the best friends groups I’d ever had. It was that same community that convinced me to start a blog after all the uplifting and positive responses from my new Instabesties and husband.
I live in Texas and I am married to my wonderful husband Cedrric, whom I commonly refer to as Mr. Sweet Face. We are college sweethearts and have been together for almost 18 years and married for almost six years now. Together we have the sweetest weenie dog named Luca (aka Luca Bear.) He just turned one and we cannot get enough of him!
We recently moved from our starter home and turned it into an Airbnb. I share a lot of the big and small renovations we have made at our Airbnb and are making in our current home. Sometimes our projects take a day and others take weeks or months, but I promise to always take y’all along with us in our journey.
I hope that by sharing my daily life I inspire you to live your life joyfully, love the body you’re in, wear what you want, and that you too can do hard things! Cedrric met me in the St. Mary University’s cafeteria. I was sitting at another table, he came up to me and asked me for my name and number, and then I thought I would never see him again. He was a junior, and I was a freshman. He called me the next week on a Wednesday, and we have been together ever since.
How did you meet Mr. Sweet Face?
I initially just had an Instagram profile, and would receive DMs all the time about my outfits, asking about beauty tips, and wondering about my travels. It wasn’t until a friend of a friend mentioned she wished I had a blog. That made me realize I had really wished I had one as well! I started my blog a month later.
What made you decide to start a blog?
I majored and graduated with a degree in Human Resources.
What was your major in college?
I’m 5’ 1” tall.
How tall are you?
I am apple shaped, so I’m widest in my belly and bottom. I wear a 16 in tops and an 18 in bottoms.
What size are you?
I would say to create content because you love it and just go for it! You can do anything you want to do! Be genuine. Be honest. Be Consistent. Be YOU!
