I cannot say how amazingly fun and relaxing Stonewall Motor Lodge was to stay at. Stonewall Motor Lodge has recently been remodeled and re-branded to a gorgeous retro modern gem that’s nestled right on the wine trail, on Highway 290 in Stonewall, Texas. The managers of the property Tim and Donna were so nice! Having previously managed another property in town, this husband and wife due both had a ton of suggestions on where to eat and all of their personal favorites and why. They were such a valuable resource to us, because we had absolutely no time to research our favorites beforehand. We were greeted with a goodie bag full of items, including a custom hat that matched the rest of Stonewall Motor Lodge’s logo.
There’s only 12 rooms on the entire property of Stonewall Lodge, but there’s also 6 RV hookups around back and a handicapped accessible room. Each room has vibrant turquoise doors, which gives the property all the retro vibes. The entire hotel used to house former President Lyndon Johnson’s secret service and press corp. How cool is that? When owner Anita was looking to renovate Stonewall Lodge, she wanted to bring back those memories and time frame by branding the hotel in a retro but clean modern look. In our room we had a black and white picture of Lady Bird Johnson stealing a smooch from President Lyndon B. Johnson. You can tell every detail was planned out to create the perfectly quaint yet modern property.
Some of the amenities in the room include Wifi access, smart TVs, USB plugs, a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, and William Roam bath products. William Roam products are all made in the USA and its a women owned business.
There’s a deck above the Motor Lodge Lobby that’s absolutely dreamy at night. You can sit up there at night and enjoy a bottle of wine with a nice breeze. Tim and Donna warned us it was so relaxing we would fall asleep up there and she was right! Cedrric fell asleep within 15 minutes of relaxing on the deck.
Stonewall Motor Lodge is such a cool place to stay, and is worth the short drive for a weekend getaway, family reunion, or even a bachelorette weekend! Write any questions you have for me below, I’d be happy to answer them!
